Chaplin Farrant 5 Scottish Courage 13
Scotco team architect victory in thriller
Scottish Courage Team:
Stevie (6)
scotty (2)
reevesy (2)
will (1)
andrew (1)
mike the silver fox (1)
Scotco spurred on by last weeks recovery saw a similar line up with the inclusion of the sprightly Silver Fox, Mike Morris who had been very vocal watching the first match. Scotco started well gaining territorial advantage but failing to beat the excellent Chaplin keeper. Scotco gained the lead after 15 minutes through an excellent finish by Scotty who had clearly recovered from the works do on friday where he clearly had one over the eight. Another goal followed from a smart finish from Andy. The guys couldn't stand the verbal abuse so decided to change things -the great moment arrived when the Silver Fox tore off his tracksuit and climbed (sorry, stumbled) over the barrier to the pitch. All eyes were on him. How would the opposition cope with his experience and turn of speed?? Scotco meanwhile managed to dominate the first half with the impressive Stevie weaving his magic . Scotco gained a 4-0 lead before the cat was in real action .. been a gooner it was clear that Billy had been watching the battle of the goalies between Jens(Lehmann) and Manuel (Alimunia) and fro the first goal conceeded decided to copy his heroes..! -a fumble. However he atoned for this throughout with a competent display putting his new bright white gloves to good use and made himself big (no comment here) despite his lack of height. Scotco took a 7-1 interval lead against a sporting CF team. Reevesy was determined to score -he made the CF keeper look good with some woeful finishing the team continued to push and ran out worthy 13-5 victors. Sixshot Stevie hit six, scotty 2 and reevesy got 2 eventually. Will blasted home and the last goal was claimed by the silver fox Mike -it was decided to give the goal, despite a deflection of the CF defender or we wouldn't hear the last of it. Reevesy after scoring twice went for the third and decided not to pass to Scotty and blazed the ball high over the crossbar - ('ave it the rest of the team thought... ). With Mike and Reevesy at the back there was years of experience there -97 to be exact! -clearly the youth policy is working. A sparkling display from Scotco.
Man of the match: Stevie - had the ball attached to his laces !!
