BT Engineering 2 Hi-Span 7

Engineers lose 100% home record

BT Engineering Team:
Sherbut the snail
Sharpy
Woodsy (1)
Stu Wright (1)
Rixxy
Rich
Kev

The BT engineers entered this game with a 100% home record and in a confident mood against one of this seasons title contenders. Sherbut "the cat", sorry!,"the snail", Morter again made another appearance for the engineers between the posts. With both Woodsy and Stu now signed up on short term 50 year contracts, manager Rixxy is quoted as saying "The engineers now have a strike force any team will struggle against". With 15 minutes on the clock the game had 0-0 witten all over it as both sides looked well organised. Sharpy then arrived after first training for some "up North Challenge" ready for his introduction into the game. Without even the coming on, Sharpy somehow seemed to turn the game as Hi-Span began banging in the goals. With Christmas now out of the way, Sherbut "the snail" Morter was no longer going to treat the ball like money and as such let every shot slip through his hands. To the casual observer it would appear the ball had been tampered with and covered with butter or baby oil. A combination of some great strikes and a tampered ball soon meant that the Engineers lost touch with Hi-Span as they stretched the lead. Woodsy seemed somewhat lost upfront without a chain link fence to punt the ball over but in a truely stunning moment of madness managed to miss hit a shot straight past the Hi-Span giant of a keeper into the net for a goal to the engineers. Stu continued to carve the occasional opening but the Hi-Span keeper managed to gaurd the goal with iron gloves. The game ended with the HiSpan tally reaching 7 with only 2 replies from the BT frontmen. Hi-Span must now be favorites to take the title from Marsh. Another good competitive game played in the right spirit.

Man of the match: Woodsy for his "wonder" strike ...... we all "wondered" if he would ever score!
